8 Year Old Boy Drowns in Carlsbad, Transported via Mercy Air

An 8-year-old boy is in critical condition tonight after he was found at the bottom of his family's pool off of Esturion Place in Carlsbad tonight. Firefighters got the call just after 6:30 to the report of a drowning. Mercy Air 5 was called in and landed at La Costa Meadows Elementary School to airlift the boy to Children's Rady Hospital. He left the scene in critical condidion.
